| Projects - Railroad Bridge Repair & Replacement | ||
Railroad Bridge Replacement & Emergency Work Fenton was contracted to remove and replace one of the oldest existing timber-trestle bridges in the Norfolk Southern system, located deep in the woods of West Virginia, more than a mile from any blacktopped road. Fenton removed the aging 400-foot bridge, and replaced it with a new span supported by steel. Fenton crews worked round the clock, and had the span back in service in less than 72 hours.

CSX Bridge Replacement This project involved the removal of four existing bridge spans, along with fabrication and erection of two new bridge spans. The process involved the removal of the two existing spans, leaving two spans to carry the two rail lines. “Switchovers” of both spans were performed in less than 12 hours, which kept the line closure time to a minimum. |

Bridge Replacement Only eight hours was needed to remove and replace a railroad bridge section spanning the river pictured. The project was performed with innovative flair, using a barge to carry the span, float into position, and set it in place on existing bridge piers.
